Lot 105: Glen Grant 1952 60-Year-Old Queen’s Diamond Jubilee

The 1952 Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Glen Grant expression, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, is expected to fetch between £8,000 and £9,000 when it goes under the hammer.

It was laid down in oloroso Sherry casks four days before Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1952 and bottled on 2 February 2012 to mark Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee.

The rare expression is bottled in a Glencairn decanter, topped with a Swarovski crystal stopper and packaged in a box made from Scottish elm sourced from Holyrood house. It comes with its own Harris Tweed bag.

Jack Chapman, wine specialist at Dreweatts & Bloomsbury, said: ‘Fine claret and outstanding whisky have always been my choices for when the nights close in, and this sale has some great opportunities to acquire both staples and sought-after rarities.’
