A rare 60-year-old bottling of Glen Grant single malt Scotch is being auctioned next month at the latest wine and spirits sale held by Dreweatts & Bloomsbury in London.
The 1952 Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Glen Grant expression, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail, is expected to fetch between £8,000 and £9,000 when it goes under the hammer.
It was laid down in oloroso Sherry casks four days before Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1952 and bottled on 2 February 2012 to mark Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee.
The rare expression is bottled in a Glencairn decanter, topped with a Swarovski crystal stopper and packaged in a box made from Scottish elm sourced from Holyrood house. It comes with its own Harris Tweed bag.
