Assery distillery
Highland single malt Scotch whisky
This small distillery was at Assery farm, on an estate owned by Sir John Sinclair of Ulbster. It stood near Bridge of Westfield, a few miles south-west of Thurso on the Forss Water. The Forss flows northwest from Loch Calder to the Pentland Firth.
Assery History
Assery distillery opened and closed in 1798. It had been licensed to Alexander Sutherland, who may also have been the farmer at that time.
