This was a farm distillery near Edzell, Angus, operated by James Guthrie, who was sequestrated in 1833.
The farm still exists today, about a mile south-west of Edzell village and quite close to the West Water, one of the tributaries of the River North Esk.
Eastertown of Dunlappy History
Eastertown of Dunlappy was opened in the early 1830s by James Guthrie, who was probably related to the three Guthrie brothers – David, John and Alexander, who founded North Port distillery in Brechin in 1820.
James Guthrie was sequestrated in 1833 and the Eastertown of Dunlappy distillery closed.
